I’ve broken down the self love journaling process into 4 easy to follow steps, to help you get started and stay consistent and motivated:
- Choose an inspiring notebook and start by journaling a single day of your life. I prefer writing my thoughts at night as it gives me the chance to reflect on my day. You may do it in the morning, or you may journal throughout the day, whenever you feel you have things to journal about. It doesn’t really matter, as long as you go ahead and include journaling in your life. So, as i was saying, i prefer journaling at night. I reflect on my day and list that day’s events.
- Try to write down your feelings on each one of these day events. And explain why you got that feeling. What is it that you liked or didn’t like? How can you get more of these good feelings or how can you never experience the bad ones? This step will help you understand more of yourself and put your thoughts in order.
- Write down everything that happened that make you feel proud of yourself. It could be, an accomplishment at work, the way you reacted in a difficult situation, something you did for yourself, an act of kindness, even just saying no for something you didn’t feel like doing.
- Put on paper all your behaviors that you didn’t like and made you feel bad. Try to understand why you reacted the way you did and try to find ways to improve and alter that behavior.
It’s not an easy process writing about yourself. But if you put in the hard work and keep journaling events, reactions, behaviors and feelings, it will for sure help you become a better version of yourself.
And as you get deeper in this self discovery game, you will become more aware of what makes you happy and fulfilled.
